When change feels terrible

But it's still the right choice...

Have you ever decided to make the right choice for yourself, yet felt stuck. guilty, or sad, or scared?

It's staring a polar bear in the face, scary.


Here's the caveat. If you are an empath, healer, or sensitive, your inclination is to befriend the bear, take it home, feed it, and understand that it really didn't mean to kill that eskimo. It was raised that way...

It's cute and furry and seems so gentle.


But a polar bear is still a polar bear no matter how much you tend to it, care for it, or love it, the bear will still eat your dog, kill your best friend, or bite your head off.


Empaths and sensitives often find themselves surrounded by polar bears.

We are hard wired to help.


But without strong boundaries, we often stay too long, over-function, and exhaust themselves trying to justify why the polar bear is so darned angry.


Instead of honoring our needs, we hide them—become smaller, withhold our neends in order to avoid conflict and calm the bear.


We’re wired to put others first. The polar bear is smart and knows which prey can feed it fish, give generously, and never complain.


The polar bear grow happy and fat eating those fish.

We fish for attention, care, equal partnership.

This situation works until we start to fray at the edges...worn out from fishing in the ice pond.


As parents or caregivers, giving comes naturally. But empaths suffer deeply in close relationships with self-centered partners.


You're not self-centered if you step away from the pond.


Stop being the light for someone who loves living in the darkness.


1.     Develop the ability to say no.

2.     Stop and count to five before agreeing.

3.     Check in with your body to see where you are holding your emotions.

        Don't let your brain, guilt and fear derail you.

4.     See a therapist, counselor, or life coach for guidance.

5.     Schedule Reiki, massage, or other self-care activities.

6.     Meet up with friends. Feed your soul, not the bear.

7.     Find like-minded people to remind you who you are.


Making the right choice helps you harness your light.

 We are not here to extinguish it, we are here to shine.
