It began when I was weeding my garden today, loaded with clovers. What Made Me Look?A conversation dad and I had a few months before he passed, burst into my mind.
Did you know the odds of finding a four-leaf clover are 1 in 10,000? I didn’t.
Months before dad crossed over, I said this prayer:
“Please bless my dad. His health is failing. God, I’d like to look here in this very spot tomorrow and find a four-leaf clover. It’s not because I need proof—I’ve just searched for years and never found one. I want to know my prayers are heard.”
The next morning, I walked to that very place by the walkway and there it was—my first four-leaf clover. I was elated. I framed it and danced around like a child. It wasn’t about testing God—it was about faith…my faith.
That same week I whispered more prayers for my father. Impossible odds, right? Yet I found another and another, until I had collected seven clovers.
My parents visited a few months before he was too ill to travel.
I showed the clovers to dad, who believed in the power of prayer. He laughed and said, “You must have a pipeline to heaven.”
“No,” I smiled, “I just have faith, same as you.”
A few months passed, and my dad crossed over. At exactly the time he passed, an artist client of mine heard a distinct message from a large happy man, claiming to be my dad. She had never met him. He insisted she paint me a picture for me from him right away.
A week after his funeral, she brought me a painting dad commissioned from heaven: two four-leaf clovers, three roses, and the word Always. Dad called Mom, my sister, and me his roses.
